This one-block nine-color reduction print is 8 by 11 inches. It depicts the colorful and odd-shaped rocks along the shore of major likes like Lake Superior. Created by centuries of crashing waves and icy storms, they help to prevent shoreline erosion and make for enjoyable walking there.
After a life-long experience as a do-it-yourselfer and woodworker, making practical items like furniture and toys, in 2012 Ben took a weekend workshop in woodblock printing at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with artist Nick Wroblewski. After that initial experience he has continued to learn new skills as a woodcut artist, taking his creative energies as a retired pastor into new artistic directions. More recently Ben has studied drawing and painting at Northern Michigan University and is a member of Lake Superior Art Association.
