The homesteads of an earlier era have given way to large corporate farms with vast acreage to feed the world. This original limited edition woodcut is 7 by 9 inches, using one block and 14 colors.
After a life-long experience as a do-it-yourselfer and woodworker, making practical items like furniture and toys, in 2012 Ben took a weekend workshop in woodblock printing at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with artist Nick Wroblewski. After that initial experience he has continued to learn new skills as a woodcut artist, taking his creative energies as a retired pastor into new artistic directions. More recently Ben has studied drawing and painting at Northern Michigan University and is a member of Lake Superior Art Association.
