Adirondack Chairs have become a symbol of relaxing on Mackinac Island at many of the hotels, especially at Mission Point Resort where they are available to all island visitors. That's one of the biggest reasons the Island is so popular, a place to get away from daily life and take a welcome break. This woodcut invites you to bring your family, even your dog, and maybe take a short cruise around the island, too.

After a life-long experience as a do-it-yourselfer and woodworker, making practical items like furniture and toys, in 2012 Ben took a weekend workshop in woodblock printing at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with artist Nick Wroblewski. After that initial experience he has continued to learn new skills as a woodcut artist, taking his creative energies as a retired pastor into new artistic directions. More recently Ben has studied drawing and painting at Northern Michigan University and is a member of Lake Superior Art Association.
