Take a carriage ride on Mackinac Island to get a first-hand view of the island, its history, and the people who live and work there. Imagine what it was like a century and more ago when we relied on horses for work and transportation. This classic one-color woodcut finds you inside the carriage looking out across the backs of the horses as you begin your ride!

After a life-long experience as a do-it-yourselfer and woodworker, making practical items like furniture and toys, in 2012 Ben took a weekend workshop in woodblock printing at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with artist Nick Wroblewski. After that initial experience he has continued to learn new skills as a woodcut artist, taking his creative energies as a retired pastor into new artistic directions. More recently Ben has studied drawing and painting at Northern Michigan University and is a member of Lake Superior Art Association.
