This 8 by 11 woodcut was made by reduction using two blocks and 13 colors. These rocky cliffs are a favorite area on the far side of Presque Isle Park in Marquette, especially for those daring folks wanting to jump off into the cold waters of Lake Superior below. It's the local scene for cliff diving!

After a life-long experience as a do-it-yourselfer and woodworker, making practical items like furniture and toys, in 2012 Ben took a weekend workshop in woodblock printing at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with artist Nick Wroblewski. After that initial experience he has continued to learn new skills as a woodcut artist, taking his creative energies as a retired pastor into new artistic directions. More recently Ben has studied drawing and painting at Northern Michigan University and is a member of Lake Superior Art Association.
