In Kenya as in all of Africa their hopes for the future are in the lives of their children.The students, their teachers and their homes make all the difference! From their classrooms the children contemplate Africa and the world, considering all that the future can hold for them... This limited edition woodcut was created by reduction using two blocks and 13 colors.

After a life-long experience as a do-it-yourselfer and woodworker, making practical items like furniture and toys, in 2012 Ben took a weekend workshop in woodblock printing at the North House Folk School in Grand Marais, Minnesota, with artist Nick Wroblewski. After that initial experience he has continued to learn new skills as a woodcut artist, taking his creative energies as a retired pastor into new artistic directions. More recently Ben has studied drawing and painting at Northern Michigan University and is a member of Lake Superior Art Association.
